Eight days of music, theatre, film and craft at the Etno Village in Kukaj — Kosovo’s warmest festival tradition, sixteen editions in, for 3€ at the gate.

For eight days every August, the Etno Village complex in Kukaj — a hillside hamlet just outside Prishtina — fills with concerts, theatre, documentary film, exhibitions, craft workshops and debates, all for 3€ at the gate. 2026 is the sixteenth edition, themed "Kujtesa" — Memory — and the program takes it seriously: documentaries on Kosovo's missing, a panel with wartime survivors, photography built from the faded protest portraits of the disappeared. Heavy material, handled in the lightest setting imaginable.
The full day-by-day programme is below. The thirteen exhibitions open on night one and stay on view for the whole festival, and every evening closes with Etno Neja, the late-night slot. Our picks: opening night with Vendim Kapaj — the kavall master on the soundtrack of Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" — the anthropological stage piece "Mysafiri", Florian Zeller's "Pylli" staged by Prizren's Bekim Fehmiu theatre, the Nexhmije Pagarusha songbook on Friday, the artisan women's market "Kandi i Kurajos" over the final weekend, and mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci's "Echoes of Origin" to close.
